Coca-Cola Consolidated has over 400 Teammates living and working in Lexington, Kentucky. Part of the company’s Purpose is to serve others, and that starts with the communities we directly impact. Coke Consolidated is a proud partner of Champions Weekend in Lexington. Partnering with University of Kentucky Athletics, Better Lifestyle Events, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass, Meijer and more, Champions Weekend was more than a celebration of athletic excellence. Champions Weekend 2025 united the Lexington community in a shared mission to support local initiatives and foster economic development. We’re honored that our Teammates were on the ground taking part in the events dedicated to creating a tighter-knit community.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lexington community and to make a positive impact in the lives of others alongside our Teammates and partners,” said Morris Howard, Director of Community Relations at Coca-Cola Consolidated.
The weekend kicked off with the Champions Service Project, where more than 25 volunteers from non-profits, the private industry and government officials stuffed 500 backpacks with non-perishable food provided by community partner, Meijer. Saturday was all about supporting youth, with a basketball camp hosted by former University of Kentucky basketball players. The athletes focused on developing healthy habits and building good sportsmanship with the campers. The Champions Charity game followed between former University of Kentucky basketball players and other local celebrities. All of the money raised was donated to non-profits in Lexington, making Saturday a day to reinforce community bonds and elevate the area.
“This weekend was a celebration of athletic prowess, community spirit, and strategic partnerships that will leave a lasting impact on Lexington,” said Morris. “It was wonderful to see Coca-Cola Consolidated Teammates and our community partners coming together and making this weekend unforgettable.”
